Knowing the breed was never the whole story.
Karmen has had dogs throughout her life, sometimes more than one at once. What stayed with her was how different they could be: the same breed, a similar home, a similar upbringing — and completely different ways of meeting the world.
One detail never explained everything. But a habit, a reaction, a little shared ritual? Together, those things began to make a picture. Peti grew from the wish to keep noticing that individual dog, and the relationship only the two of you share.
